Tiwanaku Pre-Columbian archaeological site in western Bolivia.


One of the most remarkable monuments of the ancient world – the Sun Gate. They are cut from a large rock monolith gray-green andesite width of 3.8 m, 3 m high and 0.5 m thick, their weight – about 10 tons. Above the opening carved figure of the god Viracocha, which was the capital of Tiwanaku.

Peru, Valley pyramids Tucume


South America, Peru. Valley pyramids Tucume – the ancient religious center of the pre-Inca South American Indian tribes. These pyramids are called “Huaca”, the largest of them – the Huaca Larga (“Long Pyramid”), the length of which is 700m. at 280m width. and a height of 30m. They are all built of mud clay bricks.

Chimu state existed in Peru before the Inca Empire. State Chimu reached its power in the 15th century, shortly before the conquest of the Incas. The capital city of Chan Chan is located in the valley of the river Mocha.
